Have a Fabulous Halloween

When I noticed how long it's been since I've last blogged, I was a little surprised and then I was even more surprised that I still had followers! LOL! I'm sorry it's been a long time since I've been around. To say that I've had a sucky year is an understatement. I won't bore all of you with the details but I will tell you I'm trying to get myself back to normal. It's just a shitty and hard road getting there.

Handsome and I watched the kids for a while this past weekend. We carved pumpkins and had a good time. They didn't stay the night but they are hinting at it next weekend. We'll see. We won't be doing our normal Halloween party this year either. Handsome and I are going to have a scary movie fest this weekend complete with lots of junk food. I'm sure we'll have some trick or treaters and that will be fabulously fun to see all of the kids dressed up this Halloween.

Everyone have a fabulous Halloween this year!

Jason Edding's loss reminded me of something

Apparently Author Jason Edding's life partner has passed away. I admit I do not know him, but I did leave a message of support for him during this horrible time.
I'm going to publish the link here and on goodreads if any of our friends are interested in leaving him a message.

http://jasonedding.com/2010/05/06/you-are-not-alone/

His loss has reminded me to tell all of you something. I want to tell all of you, thank you for being such fabulous friends and Jack and I adore all of you. We appreciate the love and support you've give us this past year. We've been lucky to to have all of you in our life. Go hug and kiss the ones you love. I know I am, even the worthless dogs.

Vacations, Wine, Diners and Cars

I'm ready to go on a fabulous VACATION!

To my utter joy, I ended up talking to Shawn for a few minutes. She's having a blast in Las Vegas! She's spotted a handsome goth guy, but he took off before she could take a picture. She's got to eat at a FOO FOO restaurant and said it was actually "GOOD" and she's won $250.00! GO HER! At this rate, she'll never come home! LOL! Anyway, she's having a super fabulous time, and I'm more than thrilled for her.

After supper, and I talked to Shawn, we decided to just chill out and have a few glasses of wine...Sometimes the best conversations happen over a bottle of wine. LOL. We talked about where we want to go on vacation this year. He knows the cabins would be fabulous, but he's wanting to do something else too. (We'll do the cabin on a long weekend) Last year he wanted to go on a cruise but I vetoed it. He still wants to go on one this year. Me, on the other hand, wants to travel the US. I would love to go to Texas and see some of our old friends, and maybe try to swing in Vegas too. (Blame Shawn on that one!) So we're still deciding what to do. He wants to take his vacation in July, so we need to make up our minds way before then.

Where do all of you want to go this year on vacation? Maybe you'll have better ideas than we have. LOL!

He also wants to get me a newer used car. I have an ancient car that Jack's decided is unreliable, so we're going to start looking for me a better car. I'm thinking something small and economical, he's thinking something sporty and sexy. LOL.

We have Movie and Game night this weekend. The movie is Diner, so it's going to be common foods found in a diner. You know it has to be greasy and bad for you. LOL. Any suggestions? I already know I'm doing an pecan pie and an apple pie for desert.

Everyone have a fabulous day today. In celebration of vacations we all hope to have soon, I give you Ashtyn in Mickey Mouse ears. YUM!

Have a Fabulous Day Today!

This week has gone by semi-fast. Now, that my BFF will be out of town for the rest of the week, I'm sure time will slow down and drag. LOL!

Monday Jack and I went out to eat and to a piano bar afterward. Now, I like to cook, but I LOVE eating out! There's no mess to clean up and I get to eat things I normally don't cook. I'm more of a Southern style Cook. So, when Jack says "Honey, lets go eat Mexican." I'm game.

The Piano bar was fun. There wasn't much of a crowd, and the music was fab. Jack and I felt comfortable enough to be affectionate there, and that's always nice. It's really good to be able to hold his hand, or give him a sweet kiss. We don't always feel safe to do that and the few people at the bar could have cared less, so that made our experience better.

I made Chicken and Dumplings last night, along with Mac and Cheese. After we ate we read Another Dream by Addison Albright, watched Dancing with the Stars. (Yes...I admit it's the ONE show I adore to watch) and had a fabulous time just hanging around each other. You would think after all of these years together, we wouldn't have anything to talk about, or get tired of each other, but for us it's just not the case. I love him now more than I did all those years ago. Maybe that's what true love is about. As you get to know your mate or even your friends, the love you have for them grows as time goes by...at least I think it does.

Today is the first day of Shawn's Vacation. GO HER for pampering herself and doing something for HER for a change! I miss her like crazy, but I'm happy she's treating herself.

I want all of my friends to have a fabulous day today! In honor of my BFF and as a treat for all of us, I give you more eye candy of Ashtyn Long. YUM! He'll be gracing my post all week. If we can't have Shawn, we'll at least get to drool over Ashtyn instead!

We'll Miss Our Shawn

We are all going to have to face the dilemma of my BFF and our favorite writer, Shawn, being away for most of the week. What shall we do?

She's to have way too much fun in Vegas kicking those pretty shockingly pink toenails up and having a truly scandalous time while she's there. I'll be sending her 'I miss you, BFF' notes on a daily basis and looking at past blog posts she's written. (Kev's free stories come to mind...yum!) All I know is she better regale us with all of her adventures, and of course, tell us how many Elvis impersonators she sees!

GO YOU! Angel Face! Have a Fabulous time! You deserve it!

I'll miss you, Gorgeous!

Shawn's Barnaby and Lily's Meme

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Since I have no idea who MIZB is, but I do know our lovely Lil and she encouraged everyone to play along, I thought I would do this one for fun! Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

MY TEASER WILL COME FROM THE BOOK "TALK DIRTY TO ME" BY JACK GREENE

As usual I'm an overachiever...imagine that! I picked paragraphs instead of just a sentence. LOL.

From Page 16

It was him. Casey. The beautiful man from the website. It had to be. He’d
never seen a man so perfect. His hair was tied back in a ponytail, but it was long,
past his shoulders. His cheekbones were amazing, his eyes big and expressive,
and rimmed with just a hint of black eyeliner. His lips were full and glossy. He
was slender and feminine but definitely a man. He wore tight black jeans and a
snug red t-shirt. The jeans were tucked into tall black combat boots. He was
shorter than Adam by a couple of inches. He looked Adam up and down.

From Page 20

Adam panted now, and slowly he brought his hands up, one settling on
Casey’s hip and the other at the back of his neck. He drew Casey’s slender form
against him gently, then leaned in to kiss him. Casey met him halfway, and
Adam felt the soft sigh of his breath before their lips touched.

Um...yeah, I'll be reading that book today. Casey sounds delicious! Bet Handsome will want to read this one too! Speaking of sexy heroes, OMG! I adored Shawn's Barnaby! As I told Shawn, Kevin will always be my favorite of hers that she's written, but Barnaby is almost as adorable and sexy. YUM! Of course, thinking of Barnaby I immediately think of Shawn's Ashtyn (I can't wait to read her interview with him!) and I thought I would post a picture of him today and probably tomorrow. Really the man is quite yummy! The picture I posted looks exactly how I pictured Shawn's Barnaby to be. Those of you who've read it...what do you think?

If you haven't read Only for Him, I encourage you to stop what you're reading and treat yourself to a truly fabulous story!

Have a fabulous day my friends! MUAH!

Handsome was right...

It's a very special day today. Once year ago, Shawn and I started talking outside the normal goodreads comments. She had read a book that was disturbing to say the least which led us to start a conversation about it. From there it just came natural for us to become friends.

It's been a fabulous year filled with a friendship that I never thought I would have. I've been very lucky to have met her and I have Jack and that author to thank. Jack practically had to force me to join Goodreads, as it turns out he was right. I did make fabulous friends that I have come to love, but most of all I met the best friend I could ever ask for.

So thank you, Jack, once again you were right, but don't tell anybody! MUAH!

As a present to both Shawn and I, AND the fact that Barnaby's book is out this weekend...I had to post a picture of Ashtyn to celebrate. YUM!

Happy Anniversary, Angel Face! MUAH!

I'm guilty

Am I guilty? I so am!

While talking to my BFF, we both made the observation that people don't participate at Goodreads anymore. I am guilty of this myself. Some of the drama and the negative things that had been said was driving me ape shit! (pardon the language, but it was how I felt) After some talking to my BFF and to Jack, we decided to take our Goodreads back.

So, to make amends to my terrible guilt, I'm encouraging all of our Internet and fellow reading friends to return to the place we all used to love to haunt... GOODREADS. We all need a positive place to go to. This big bad world sucks most of the time, and it would be nice to be able to keep track of what my friends are reading and what's going on with them.
If not Goodreads, we all need to find a place to mingle...even if it's for a few minutes a day or even a couple of days a week. We have something spectacular in common. That's the love of reading. It makes us almost like family in some ways because there are so many people who do not understand the beauty of the written word or the fabulousness of a lovely story. I still think Goodreads can be that place.

*Jumps off Soapbox*

ANYWAY, I've been feeling so much better! Jack and I had a fabulous weekend. We visited with his sister and her family, met with some friends and had a outstanding time just being with each other AND we read Still the One by my fabulishes BFF, Shawn Lane, and it was a utterly divine end to Malcolm and Dusty's journey. If you haven't read it, stop what you're doing right now and indulge yourself! It's short, sexy and very hot! YUM!

Thanks again to all of you who have thought about me while I was down. That meant a lot to both Jack and I. You're good friends and we've been lucky to have met and become friends with all of you.

As a thank you, I give you more of Adam. He really is quite YUMMY!

Simply Fabulous

Today I'm just sending a quick post to let you all know that I got a clean bill of health from my doctor today. I want to thank all of my friends who have kept me in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy and safe recovery.

You all are simply fabulous! MUAH!

I'm actually getting to go out tonight. We're visiting Jack's sister so I'll actually get to see something beside the interior of my house or doctor's office. GO ME!

I love Adam Ant. I used to have a major crush on him and I still love his music. Since he makes me happy, I thought I would post him on my blog. He really was damn SEXY!

I will post more later when I have more time. I just wanted to thank you all for everything. *Hugs*

One quick special note to my BFF: I love you.

I suck at lying

Well, that settles it. I officially suck at lying!

1. I was once a drag queen at a bar in Dallas. No, I've never been a drag queen.

2. I have a very close relationship with my family. Nope and it's a Long sordid story that I don't want to get into.

3. At nineteen, I won tickets to see Madonna's True Blue concert for being lucky caller number 5. No. I DID go see Madonna's True Blue concert in Dallas, but I paid my hard earned money to see her.

4. I get very anxious when I'm in large crowds and have been known to have panic attacks. This is true.

5. I dressed up as the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz at a Halloween Party this year. No. I dressed up as Dorothy

6. I have three worthless dogs whom I love dearly. NO.I have TWO worthless dogs I love dearly

7. Jack and I have been together for a little over 14 years. No. We've been together for 13 years.

8. I am over six and a half feet tall. LOL. I'm not even going there.

9. I suffer from chronic insomnia. Yes and it sucks

10. I have a fetish for long hair. DUH!

11. Other than Handsome Jack, my very best friend in the world is Shawn Lane.
I figured 10 and 11 were my give a ways...little did I know my friends knew me better than I thought.

Don't forget to enter Shawn's contest this week! Her Only series is going to be fabulous!

Hmm...how much do you know about the mysterious Shayne???

Since Eyre tagged me for this, I thought I would play along. LOL. I thought I would make it easier and for everyone. Out of eleven statements...which four are the truth about me.

1. I was once a drag queen at a bar in Dallas.

2. I have a very close relationship with my family.

3. At nineteen, I won tickets to see Madonna's True Blue concert for being lucky caller number 5.

4. I get very anxious when I'm in large crowds and have been known to have panic attacks.

5. I dressed up as the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz at a Halloween Party this year.

6. I have three worthless dogs whom I love dearly.

7. Jack and I have been together for a little over 14 years.

8. I am over six and a half feet tall.

9. I suffer from chronic insomnia.

10. I have a fetish for long hair.

11. Other than Handsome Jack, my very best friend in the world is Shawn Lane.

I don't know who's been tagged and who hasn't. I hope everyone who wants to do this will.

Have a great weekend!

What a week we've had!

This has been an interesting week!

Jack has been sick, but as of this morning is feeling much better and will be returning to work. GO HIM! I think he's been getting stir crazy staying in bed, but I WILL share that he enjoys the constant hovering he's received by me. LOL!

Our Ava March's Vampire/Historical book, From Afar, was released yesterday. Jack and I have bought our copy and we are both very excited to read it! We plan on indulging with Ms. Ava's sexy romance this weekend. Congrats to MS. Ava on what's sure to be a very successful series and new release!

I've just read that Eyre's BFF's sister-in-law's, niece (Eyre I hope I got that right) is having a radical surgery done to help her with seizures. Lets keep this brave young lady in our good thoughts. Hopefully, our Eyre will keep us all informed of her progress.

Now... LAST but NOT LEAST, The Fabulous Shawn Lane has a new friend, Ashtyn Long. (Can you say YUM?) He's found out that we've all been perving on him, and that the fabulous Shawn Lane has based a hero on him and he's apparently tickled about it. GO SHAWN! She is going to get to interview this very bright and gorgeous young man in March, and being the gracious and fabulous person she is, she's allowing us to all participate by coming up with some interesting questions to ask him. Apparently, he's cool enough to answer almost anything, and I don't know about YOU...but I'm thinking of questions to ask him as we speak!

Here we are on Wednesday and the week has been a very interesting one so far! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Have a fabulous week! MUAH!

I've been keeping Kleenex tissues in business

No matter what you have read from Shawn Lane's post, I have to confess...I gave her my cold. I kept breathing on her, and voila, now she's sick. Sigh...*cough*

I've been under the weather for about a week now. Colds always hold onto me forever, but then again all illness do. I guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones. LOL

Jack's been doing good. He went to a Superbowl party *shudder* and I got to stay home and chat with my BFF, so that started my week off on a fabulous note.

One thing about being sick is being pampered. Jack's provided me with everything from tissues, cough medicine to take out. But, as I was telling Angel Face, it sucks that I can't taste it.

I wanted to take a few minutes to let all of you I'm still alive, I just look like Rudolph, and my hair has seen better days. I looked in the mirror a minute ago and almost scared myself! It's a wonder the worthless dogs haven't run from me in fear!LOL!

Be safe everyone! MUAH!

TGIF!

I don't know about everyone else, but I am very happy that the weekend is almost here. Tonight Jack and I have Movie and Game night with some friends instead of our normal date night we have on Fridays. I'm a little disappointed because I really enjoy our dates, but it will be nice hanging around and playing games tonight, too.

I think we might keep the kids on Saturday. We went to Jack's sister's house last night and they were really begging to come over. We still haven't decided if they will or not. I wouldn't mind putting it off for until next weekend. I would like to have a lazy weekend of being with Jack, reading, talking to my BFF, watching movies and playing with our worthless dogs. No pressure. Just a relaxing good time.

I think I'm getting lazy in my old age! LOL!

I hope all of my friends have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Hump Day!

Since everyone has posted some fabulous eye candy (thank you Shawn, Shell Bell and Ava) I thought I needed to share some too. YUM!

Not a lot has happened, which is a good thing. Jack's been busy at work and I've been cooking and baking like the crazy man I am!

Jack and I will be attending a Movie and Game night, Friday night. Otherwise, I think we'll be chillin' at home. I'm happy about that because I'm ready to just stay home, watch movies, eat junk food and relax with my long haired beauty. (Shawn's not allowed to have scissors anywhere near me or Jack) LOL!

Hope everyone has a fabulous day today!

Thanks for the support you've given us

Thank you for all of the sweet and thoughtful notes you've sent to both Jack and I. Your kind words and loving support has meant a lot to not only me, but to Jack as well. Thank you. I know I'll never forget it.

For the majority of my life, Gay Marriages have been a pipe dream for many of us. We're friends with several long term gay couples who have wanted to be married for years. For a long time, I think I put the thought of marriage out of my mind because I didn't believe that it would really ever become accepted. The pessimist in me sometimes still thinks that it will never be. The hopeful and more optimistic Shayne says that patience is a virtue and one day everyone will have the right to marry who they love, no matter the gender.

Only time will tell on his controversial matter. In the meantime, I'll proudly wear the ring he gave me, and know that we have all of the support from our friends here. We'll keep hoping that one day it will not only be official in the eyes of our family and dear friends, but in the eyes of the law, too.

We love and appreciate you all.

Thank you. I really do have the most fabulous friends.

Mean people really do suck...and not in a good way.

Hi Friends!

It's been a good weekend. Jack and I went out to eat Friday night. Saturday we spent the afternoon at his sister's house. The kids wanted to spend a couple of days with us, so they've been here for the past two days.

I've played games, watched movies, read books, I've been a rock star, ate pizza until I'm sick of it and baked cookies...I'm exhausted!

It's been fun though. They'll go home this afternoon and I'm hitting the bed to cuddle with Jack and the worthless dogs and getting some sleep!

On a pissy note...I logged in to the goodreads site and was outraged at some comments made to one of our favorite reviewers, Lily, and our dear friend, Eyre. It's a sad time we live in when we can not express ourselves fairly about a book we've read (or whatever) and have rude and spiteful comments about the reviewer and other readers. That made me sick.
I hate drama. I really do, but that really was uncalled for. I ended up making a comment of my own and flagging an inappropriate one.
Bullies shouldn't be allowed to get away with being so cruel.
I've never understood cruelty and unsolicited rudeness to others. I guess I never will.
Anyway, I guess I'm trying to say in a roundabout way, Keep your chin up girls! We got your back!

Everyone have a great holiday today! MUAH!

Shawn Lane is a Big Tease!

My BFF Shawn Lane has been a big tease to all of us this week! She's writing a fabulous new book with a character named Barnaby whom she is totally in love with!! She's been posting these pictures of this young man named Ashtyn Long who she says is the inspiration to her character Barnaby. I think I can safely say we have all been drooling over this sexy looking young man. So in celebration of my Angel Face typing her big beautiful heart out for our reading pleasure, I present one more picture of Ashtyn (Barnaby) for our viewing pleasure.
I know I can't wait to meet him! YUM is right!

We're back!

We're back!

Jack and I had a fabulous time on our vacation. Jack swept me off to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We stayed in a very nice cabin up there. It had gorgeous views and we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit.

One bad thing about it was the snow. It was quite stunning, but so freaking cold! If you haven't been to Gatlinburg, let me tell you that you have to park your car and walk up and down the strip there. This is fine on nice warm days. Freezing temperatures did not make this a fabulous thing to do. So, we didn't get out as much as we normally would have. Believe me, both Jack and I stayed bundled up the entire time there.

It's a very romantic place and the Smokey Mountains are simply breathtaking. If you ever have the chance to go there, you should, just don't do it in the winter!

We both were ready to come home. We missed our worthless dogs and sleeping in our own bed. I swear I can't get warm though. I think I was frozen to the bone!

I hope all of you are doing fabulous!

See you soon!
